CSUF Students Campaign for Cappuccino Milk

This past Fall semester, the students of Dr. Roberta Asahina's Advertising Procedures class at Fresno State, were given a special challenge – create an entire campaign for Producers Dairy Cappuccino milk! They were required to conduct surveys and demos, create television and radio ads, and also create an 11"x17" poster. As an incentive, Producers decided to give the group with the best campaign ipod shuffles, recognition on the company website, as well as hang up their posters around the Fresno State campus.

The students enthusiasm for the project was overwhelming! On the day of their class final, the students presented their campaigns to Dr. Asahina as well as the Producers Dairy Marketing Department. Then came the tough part – taking the projects back to the Producers office and choosing a winning group. Although there were many great ideas presented, the following criteria had to be met in addition to the above specifications:

• Consistency of message through campaign.
• Originality
• Presentation

After much deliberation, it was decided that team "Lucky 13" met the criteria we were looking for. Congratulations to Josh Anacleto, Joel Diaz, Mary McPherson, Joe Ryan, and Toua Vang for their campaign "So Happy Together!"

Although, we could choose only one team, there were a few honorable mentions. Please check out the multimedia page to see some of the work presented by some of the runners up.

WE'RE NOT CLONING AROUND!

While the FDA has recently approved the cloning of cows for meat and milk consumption by humans, Producers Dairy takes a firm stand against this practice. Producers has never used milk from cloned cows and feels this is a major mistake by the FDA. We believe that the FDA's approval of cloned cows was premature and that there should have been more studies and guidelines placed prior to this release.

Many surveys have been taken that show consumers are opposed to this new technology. We at Producers Dairy have always believed in listening to what our customers want and responding to their needs. Richard Shehadey, our president, had this to say regarding our animals, "We have always believed that if we take excellent care of our cows, they will take care of us. We do that by providing them with the most advanced, state-of-the-art facilities where they can produce milk naturally without cloning or artificial hormones."
